As a Volunteer Hospice Receptionist, you’ll support our wonderful team by helping to warmly welcome children, families, guests and visitors to the Hospice, responding to enquiries, assisting with administrative tasks, managing messages and sorting post.

No! We welcome all skills and experience at Claire House. We’ll try to match you with a role that’ll make the most of your talents.

Some roles such as family support may require additional qualifications/experience. This will be outlined in the role description.
We have opportunities available for all ages. Our Hero Awards are designed for young volunteers and fundraising events are open to all.

Some roles do have a minimum age requirement such as hospice-based roles (18+) and retail shops (16+).
Tasks will be outlined in role descriptions. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
It depends on the role! We try to offer as much flexibility as possible. Retail and fundraising offer our most ad-hoc and flexible volunteering opportunities.

It depends on the role! This will be mentioned in the role description. Hospice-based roles require a DBS check which will be conducted free of charge.
Yes! We offer training to every volunteer to make sure you feel comfortable in your role.
Your volunteer line manager or the volunteering team are always on hand if you have any questions.
